Asking for a review feels like the hardest part — it is actually the easiest, if you ask the right person at the right moment.
Most shop owners never ask for a review, because asking feels awkward. But the moment right after a customer walks out satisfied is the easiest possible time to ask.
When and how to ask
- Right at the end of the transaction. Calling later to ask gets far fewer replies.
- Make it effortless. Send the direct link to the shop's Google Maps review button over WhatsApp — the customer should not have to search for it.
- Ask them to be specific. “Good service” means less to another customer than “got it delivered the same day.”
- Make it routine, not a one-off push. Asking two or three people a week adds up to ten reviews a month.
Answering a bad review is a different skill — that is its own piece in this series.
